I was going to the Women in Travel Summit in Québec City in May, 2018 and Tourism Saguenay-Lac-Saint Jean selected me to join them on a 4-day pre-conference press trip! I took my online audience along with me for the trip by sharing my experiences on my social media channels throughout the 3 nights/4 days of the epic trip.
It was my first time in the province of Québec and the tourism board gave me such a warm welcome to their region. I experienced many firsts (in addition to visiting the province of Québec), including going on a helicopter ride and visiting a real ghost town!
The memories I had will last a lifetime. I find myself telling people I meet and those who have known me a while all about my trip whenever I get the chance to. Although my university French classes helped me to pick out a few words here and there, I think I definitely need to come back to this welcoming, friendly, beautiful region in Québec to learn to speak French more fluently.
The 4-day press trip allowed me to get a feel for this new-to-me area of Canada. I shared live updates via Instagram stories, tweets, and Facebook posts. In the weeks and months following the trip, I created YouTube videos, blog posts, and continued to share my Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean adventures on Instagram and other social media channels.
I stayed in 3 amazing waterfront hotels:
I experienced (many more than) 5 things to do in the Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean region:
I ate some of the best local vegan food around:
