Quality Inn and Suites Vernon BC Review: A Base for Your Okanagan Trip

When I plan a road trip through the Okanagan, I look for more than just a place to sleep. I want somewhere that feels like a steady pause between drives — close enough to good food, quiet corners of nature, and places I actually want to linger.

That’s exactly what you’ll see in this Quality Inn & Suites Vernon BC review offered: comfort, convenience, and just enough personality to make the stay feel easy and local rather than anonymous.

If you’re deciding where to stay in Vernon, British Columbia, this mid-range hotel hits that sweet spot between reliable and relaxed.

Location & Accessibility

Quality Inn & Suites sits right along Highway 97, close to cafés, grocery stores, and local markets, yet it’s quiet enough at night to get proper rest. It’s a short drive to Swan Lake, Davison Orchards, and the Thursday Farmers’ Market downtown.

I always notice how accessibility shows a hotel’s priorities. Here, ground-floor rooms and elevator access made it straightforward for travellers using mobility aids or simply hauling road-trip luggage. Parking is free and plentiful, a small detail that makes a big difference when you’ve been on the road all day.

This is the kind of location that works whether you’re breaking up a long Vancouver-to-Banff drive or spending a few slow days exploring the Thompson Okanagan region.

Rooms & Comfort

The rooms at Quality Inn & Suites Vernon BC are what I’d call functional-calm: uncluttered, clean, and equipped with the things that make a stay genuinely comfortable.

Hotel room amenities including a flat-screen TV, microwave, and mini fridge on a dark wood cabinet, next to a work desk and chair.

Mini-fridge, microwave, good desk space, and reliable Wi-Fi, small essentials that matter far more than decorative extras when you’re travelling with intention.

I appreciated the quiet rooms and firm beds after long filming days around Vernon. Blackout curtains actually blocked the light (rare enough to mention), and the temperature was steady without that constant hum.

Despite the hotel being on a major highway, I found it pretty quiet and had a good night’s sleep.

You get consistency, warmth from staff, and an ease that fits a slow-travel rhythm, the kind where you come “home” to reset before another day of exploring.

Amenities That Make a Difference

The amenities are geared toward practical comfort, the kind that supports real-world travellers rather than impressing for photos.

There’s a heated indoor pool and hot tub, which is ideal after a day of exploring orchards or local trails. There’s also on-site laundry, which I always appreciate on road trips, especially after hiking or filming multiple days in a row.

Breakfast is included and offers the usual mix of continental staples. I was happy to see bread and bagels to have with peanut butter or jam, and also fresh fruits available. I appreciate it when there are vegetarian and vegan options!

While there isn’t a fitness centre on-site, guests can get a day pass to nearby Planet Fitness. I actually prefer that setup: the gym is larger, better equipped, something most hotel gyms can’t match.

Free parking, dependable Wi-Fi, and friendly staff round things out. These might sound like small touches, but they’re exactly what makes a stop like this feel easy. When everything simply works, you can focus on the reason you’re here: slow days by the lake, good food, and Okanagan sunshine.

This isn’t a boutique property, and that’s a strength. It’s ideal for people who value ease, hot coffee ready in the morning, friendly staff who actually remember your question from the night before, and space to repack or reorganize between destinations.

Why I Recommend Quality Inn & Suites Vernon BC

After staying at dozens of hotels across BC and Alberta, I’ve learned that the best ones don’t try to impress; they quietly get everything right.

At Quality Inn & Suites, I felt the combination of good design decisions (spacious rooms, accessible layout) and thoughtful hospitality (staff who check in without hovering).

It’s exactly the kind of place that complements a slow-travel itinerary, comfortable, practical, and easy to return to after a day exploring orchards and lakes.

Local Discounts

Another thing that I appreciate is the list of small businesses that offer a discount for those staying at this hotel. Take a look at the up-to-date discounts available upon check-in.

Nearby Places to Eat & Enjoy

Staying here puts you within minutes of Eatology, one of my favourite vegan-friendly spots for brunch or lunch in Vernon. You’re also close to Davison Orchards, Swan Lake Garden & Market, and a range of easy nature walks.

For slower afternoons, head to the Vernon Farmers’ Market, browse local shops downtown, or drive ten minutes to Kalamalka Lake Viewpoints for that sparkly water you’ve seen in every Okanagan postcard (minus the crowds).

Enjoy the Murals and Street Art Downtown

There are beautiful murals and street art in Downtown Vernon for you to photograph and enjoy as you walk around the local businesses. Downtown Vernon is basically an open-air art gallery that most people just stroll right past.

Seriously, the murals and street art here aren’t your run-of-the-mill spray paint scribbles—they’re massive, colourful stories splashed across brick walls and tucked into unexpected corners. You’ll find everything from vintage scenes of fire stations to wild bursts of abstract colour, sometimes taking up the whole side of a building.

Ever had one of those days where you wander with no plan and let the neighbourhood surprise you? Walking around downtown Vernon is perfect for that.

Snap a photo, grab a coffee at one of the local cafés, then duck into an indie bookstore or quirky boutique just steps away from your new favourite mural. It’s like a treasure hunt—except instead of gold coins, you’re collecting photos and little moments that make small-town BC feel huge with possibility.

Don’t forget to look up—some of the best art is hiding above awnings or peeking around alleyways. Slow down, soak it in, and who knows? Your camera roll might end up as vibrant as the town itself.
