Overview of Harrison Beach Hotel
Harrison Beach Hotel is right across from the lake in the centre of Harrison Hot Springs—easy walking distance to restaurants, the waterfront, and the public hot springs.
I’ve stayed here twice:
- Once solo in a mountain-view suite
- Most recently, with my mom in one of the renovated Deluxe Two-Queens Guestroom
The most recent stay was in early May during an unexpected heatwave—beach weather, not spring jackets. The room felt fresh and modern, with high ceilings, a clean kitchenette, and space to stretch out without feeling cramped.
We ate breakfast in the room, appreciated the working air conditioning, and loved how easy it was to go from the lake to lounging inside within minutes. Even with the hotel nearly full, it was quiet and relaxed.
Located centrally, Harrison Beach Hotel lets you park once and access all of Harrison Hot Springs on foot.

Pros and Cons of Harrison Beach Hotel
✅ Pros
- Return guest discount. If you book directly through the hotel, they offer a discount for future stays, which is a nice touch if you plan to come back.
- Location can’t be beat. Right across from the lake at Harrison Hot Springs and steps from the public hot springs—no car needed once you’re here.
- Walkable to everything. Cafés, restaurants, the waterfront—all within a couple of minutes on foot.
- Renovated rooms are bright and spacious. The two-queen suite had high ceilings and a clean, modern feel.

- The kitchenette is handy. Great for breakfast, snacks, or easy meals—especially when you don’t want to eat out every night.
- Online check-in option. You can check in ahead of time by uploading your ID and plate info. It saves time at arrival, though it does add one more task before your vacation starts.
Enjoy ample space and modern amenities, perfect for family getaways at Harrison Beach Hotel.
⚠️ Cons
Accessibility is a real issue. While there is a ramp to the main entrance, it’s tucked around the side of the building, out of the way and not well marked. I was travelling with a cane and a walker, and my 80-year-old mom, and this setup made check-in more difficult than it needed to be.
If mobility is a concern for you or your travel companions, be prepared—it’s not the most accessible property, especially if you’re arriving through the overground parking lot, which also has lots of stairs and no elevator access.

- The smart TV was… too smart. We couldn’t get it to work reliably, and the Wi-Fi wasn’t strong enough to stream a full show. Frustrating, especially since the older (non-smart) TV in my first stay worked perfectly.
- Parking is awkward and not free. The overground lot is stair-heavy and not accessible. The underground garage is better for access (there’s an elevator), but it costs more, and my car bottomed out multiple times trying to get in.

- Heavy bedding with no alternatives. During our unusually warm May stay, the rooms still had thick down duvets and pillows. There was no option to request lighter or hypoallergenic bedding, which isn’t great if you have allergies or avoid animal products.
If you’re visiting Harrison Hot Springs During Winter, you may appreciate the thick bedding.
🏨 Book your stay at Harrison Beach Hotel and wake up to breathtaking views of Harrison Lake right from your balcony.

- Not all Junior Suites have balconies. If that’s a dealbreaker for you, confirm before booking.

Price and Value for Money
Rates at Harrison Beach Hotel vary seasonally, but overall, it feels like a solid value, especially compared to the more expensive resort nearby, which hasn’t aged well.
On my most recent visit, my mom and I stayed in a refreshed Deluxe Double Queen Guestroom with a kitchenette and mountain view. It was spacious, clean, and noticeably upgraded—without the resort markup. You’re getting comfort, convenience, and quiet, not just a lakefront name.
Some things to keep in mind:
- Parking costs extra, whether you choose the overground lot or the underground garage (which is more accessible).
- Return guests get a discount when booking directly with the hotel.
Alternatives and Competitors
While the Harrison Beach Hotel offers a prime lakeside location and modern amenities, it’s worth considering other accommodations in Harrison Hot Springs, especially if accessibility and specific amenities are top priorities.
Harrison Hot Springs Resort
Often the first name that comes to mind, the Harrison Hot Springs Resort boasts multiple private access hot spring pools and a full-service spa.
However, recent guests have reported issues such as outdated rooms, cleanliness concerns, and accessibility challenges, particularly for those with mobility aids. It’s also on the pricier side, with rates often exceeding $400 CAD per night.
Harrison Lake Hotel
Located a short walk from the lake, the Harrison Lake Hotel offers budget-friendly rates and basic amenities. While it provides wheelchair-accessible parking, some guests have noted that the overall accessibility features may be limited. It’s a suitable option for travellers prioritizing cost over luxury.
Harrison Spa Motel
A no-frills, pet-friendly motel, the Harrison Spa Motel is centrally located. It offers free Wi-Fi and air conditioning, making it a decent choice for short stays. However, the amenities are minimal, and it’s best suited for travellers who plan to spend most of their time exploring the area rather than staying indoors.

Who Should Stay Here?
This hotel is a great fit for travellers who want comfort without chaos. It works especially well for:
- Couples looking for a quiet escape close to nature
- Small families who want room to spread out and the option to eat in
- Solo travellers (I’ve done this myself) who appreciate walkability and calm
- Return visitors to Harrison who are ready to try something more updated and low-key than the usual resort
It’s not the right fit if you’re looking for luxury spa amenities or round-the-clock entertainment. But for a restful, convenient stay with everything you need and nothing you don’t, it’s my go-to.

Planning Your Trip: Getting to Harrison Hot Springs
By Car:
This is the easiest and most flexible option. Harrison Hot Springs is about 90 minutes from Vancouver (130 km). Just take Highway 1 east and follow signs for Agassiz/Harrison Hot Springs.
By Bus:
There are a few private shuttle options, though they’re limited and often require booking in advance. Some depart from nearby Chilliwack, not directly from Vancouver.
If you can, drive. It gives you the freedom to explore more of the Fraser Valley while you’re there and make this a great weekend away from Vancouver.
Nearby Attractions
The Sasquatch Museum and Harrison Hot Springs Public Pool are both within walking distance, allowing you to easily explore without needing to drive.
For those interested in exploring beyond the village, it’s only a short drive to Sasquatch Provincial Park and other outdoor attractions. If you’re visiting Harrison Hot Springs in the winter, don’t miss the Lights by the Lake festival or head to Sasquatch Mountain Resort for skiing and snowboarding.
With these features, the Harrison Beach Hotel is an excellent base for exploring Harrison Hot Springs, whether you’re after a peaceful retreat or an activity-packed adventure.
🏨 After a day of exploring, unwind in a suite or Deluxe Guestroom featuring a warm fireplace and a fully equipped kitchenette at Harrison Beach Hotel.
Why I’d Book Here Again (and You Might, Too)
After staying twice—once solo and once with my mom in a freshly updated Deluxe Guestroom—this has become the place I return to in Harrison Hot Springs.
It’s calm, clean, and genuinely convenient, with thoughtful details like a working kitchenette, solid water pressure, and enough space to feel like you’re not squeezing into a box.
It’s the kind of place that makes me rest easy, which is exactly what I’m looking for when I come here.
