Love Lights is my favourite time of year to visit the Capilano Suspension Bridge. Every winter, the park is decorated with thousands of pink and red lights, creating a stunning atmosphere.

If you’re lucky enough to visit after a snowfall, the snow glows beautifully, making the whole scene even more magical. You can walk across the bridge, explore the treetop walkways, and take in the glowing forest from the Cliffwalk.

It’s a great way to enjoy the winter or Valentine’s Day season in Vancouver, whether you’re with a partner, or friends, or just appreciating the view on your own.

For those fascinated by wildlife, Raptors Ridge is a must-visit part of Capilano Suspension Bridge Park. This area offers an up-close look at magnificent birds of prey, including hawks, falcons, and owls. Timing Matters: Raptors Ridge is open on weekends in April and May and daily from June through Labour Day. If you’re visiting during the Love Lights season in winter, the raptors won’t be on-site, but you can still explore the area and learn about their impact. Note: This area includes stairs and is not wheelchair accessible. Visitors should be prepared for some climbing as they make their way through the walkway.

4. Cons of Visiting Love Lights

Can Still Get Crowded – While it’s less packed than in summer, weekends and peak evening hours can get busy, making it harder to take your time on the bridge or at popular photo spots.

Price is Steep – While the experience is beautiful, ticket prices are on the higher side, especially for families or groups.

Limited Accessibility – The Suspension Bridge, Cliffwalk, and Treetops Adventure are not wheelchair accessible, and there are stairs throughout the park, making it difficult for those with mobility challenges.

Few Places to Warm Up – Apart from a few firepits near the entrance and the gift shop, there aren’t many indoor areas to escape the cold. Be prepared to stay outside for most of your visit.

Weather Can Be Unpredictable – Vancouver’s winter weather means you could get rain, fog, or even icy conditions that might affect visibility and comfort.

5. My Experience at Love Lights

Visiting Love Lights at Capilano Suspension Bridge Park is always a highlight of my winter, and this year was no exception. The red, pink, and purple lights made the entire park feel warm and inviting, even on a cold, snowy evening.

This is my favourite seasonal theme at the park because the decorations feel tasteful and fun without being over-the-top. The soft glow of the lights against the snowy treetops gave everything an almost magical quality.

I went on a Friday night, and it was surprisingly quiet, which made the experience even better. Without large crowds, it was easier to take photos without waiting for the perfect moment or having to dodge other visitors. Walking across the suspension bridge in the snow, with the river far below and twinkling lights above, was one of those moments where I felt completely immersed in the experience.

Even though it was cold, it wasn’t unbearable. The snow actually added to the beauty rather than making it uncomfortable. That said, I was grateful for the firepits near the entrance and a warm drink afterward.

Overall, Love Lights continues to be my favourite time to visit Capilano Suspension Bridge Park, and I’d absolutely recommend it to anyone who enjoys a mix of nature, lights, and a cozy winter atmosphere.
